Well there's an old project! Yeah I know, it took me long enough to get it up. The Naturalis Series is my senior thesis for photography and probably my most "complete" project from college. An excerpt from my artist's statement:

"The world around us has always been governed by nature. Instead of accepting this simple fact, man chooses to engage in a constant battle with his surroundings. People don’t want to bend to nature’s strength. Rather, they strive to control it by creating structures to protect themselves and to alter their environment. Despite these efforts, nature still overpowers humanity. Buildings fall to decay, and land becomes overgrown. Storms tear down cities. However, when man’s creations are falling and nature’s new growth is rising, the two become integrated. For a moment, the battle pauses."

And for everyone who watches this gallery for the animal art, we'll be back to our regularly scheduled doses of cute and fluffy in just a few days! I have one more photo project to go up and a few misc prints. Then back to the animal kingdom for more fun filled adventures.
